The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team (10-7 overall, 3-1 MIAC) lost in five sets to Macalester with set scores of 22-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-18 and 13-15.

The Blazers were led by senior right side hitter Kayli Schumacher (East Grand Forks, MN, Sacred Heart), who had an impressive 22 kills off of a .304 hitting percentage.  First-year outside hitter Lexi Alm (Stacy, MN, Forest Lake) totalled 10 kills for a .346 hitting percentage, while sophomore Shannon Bassett (Eagan, MN, Eagan) had 10 kills as well.  First-year Kathyrn Gaydos (Savage, MN, Prior Lake) compiled 47 set assists, while first-year outside hitter Chelsea Rachel (Maple Lake, MN, Maple Lake) led with 14 digs.

CSB will host the Border Battle this weekend.  The Blazers play at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 1, following with matches at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 2.  Watch the Blazer website for more details.
