The College of Saint Benedict (8-6 overall, 1-0 MIAC) went 4-0 in the CSB Holiday InnVitiatonal to become to Co-Champions of the tournament, along with St. Olaf.

The Blazers defeated Hamline 3-0 with scores of 25-16, 25-18, 26-24.  Leading CSB was junior outside hitter Lexi Alm (Stacy, MN, Forest Lake), who had 11 kills and 13 digs.  Senior libero Amber Wortz (Fairfax, MN, Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop) totalled 25 digs, while senior right side hitter Kayli Schumacher (East Grand Forks, MN, Sacred Heart) added eight kills.

In the second set of the day, CSB defeated the University of Minnesota-Morris 3-0 with scores of 25-11, 25-22, 25-15.  Three Blazers compiled 11 kills in the match - Schumacher, senior middle blocker Calleigh Brown (Buffalo, MN, Buffalo), and junior outside hitter Chelsie Sobieck (Wyoming, MN, Forrest Lake).  Schumacher and Brown had .348 and .476 hitting percentages respective.  FIrst-year setter Kathyrn Gaydos (Savage, MN, Prior Lake) totalled 40 set assists.

Schumacher was named the Co-MVP of the tournament, while Gaydos was also named to the All-Tournament team.

CSB's next competition is on Wed., Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. against Bethel at home.  Live stats and webcast will be available.
