The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team (3-5 overall, 0-0 MIAC) defeated Edgewood College 3-0 in the final match of pool play at the Augsburg Invite.
The Blazers dominated the first set with a .370 hitting percentage, capitalizing on a 7-1 and 9-4 runs to take the lead at 16-5. Another 9-4 run gave CSB the win with a final score of 25-9.
The second set was a little closer as the Blazers took an 8-4 lead to start. The Eagles battled back, bringing the score within one at 12-11, but CSB maintained its lead, stringing together a 6-2 run to lead 18-13. Edgewood managed to tie the score at 20, but never found the lead as CSB went on to win 25-21.
The final set began with a tied score at six a piece before the Blazers took a 13-8 lead over the Eagles. CSB slowly extended that margin throughout the rest of the set, going on to win 25-17.

Amber Wortz (Fairfax, MN, Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop) led the team with 14 digs.
The Blazers finished pool play with a 2-1 record, advancing to the third place match. They play Central College at 3 p.m. this afternoon.
