First-year skiier, cross country runner and track and field athlete Megan Smith (Lakeville, MN, Lakeville North) was named this year's Rookie of the Year for CSB Athletics.

As a member of the Nordic skii team, Smith finished first or second for the Blazers in all but one of the team's 11 races, the other in which she placed third.  In the American Birkebeiner, she finished second of 58 women in the 19-24 age group and ninth overall of 552 women.

She currently holds the school record for the fastest 5K, and is second in both the 10K and 15K Skate.

in the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Championships, Smith finished in ninth place overall, and was not only the top First-Year skiier, but the top Division III skiier.  In the final CCSA points standing, she finished 17th among all skiiers, ninth in Division III, and was the top First-Year.
