The College of Saint Benedict Blazer tennis team (6-4 MIAC, 11-6 overall) couldn't overcome Gustavus (9-0, 28-10 overall) in a 9-0 loss in the Blazers' last match of the regular season on Sunday afternoon at Gold's Gym in Sartell, MN.

CSB's doubles teams played the Gusties tough but couldn't finish out any of the matches with a victory.  Senior Rachel Tiegs (Rochester, MN, Lourdes) and sophomore Lauren Jones (Ogden, UT, Saint Joseph Catholic) slipped 8-3 to Marianne Burau and Megan Gaard at #1, junior Kylie Huether (Sioux Falls, SD , Washington) and sophomore Alyson Brandell (Elk River, MN, Elk River) were tipped by Sam Frank and Ali O'Neal 9-8 (7-3) at #2, and senior Katie Rudnitski (Gilman, MN, Foley) and sophomore Sarah Rossman (Rochester, MN, Lourdes) fell short against Sierra Krebsbach and Maria Bryan in a 8-5 loss at #3.

Saint Benedict failed to find any momentum in their singles contests, either.  Tiegs, Huether, Rudnitski, junior Elissa Husby (Duluth, MN, Marshall), Jones and Brandell all lost their matches to the strong Gustavus singles team.

The Blazers have qualified for the MIAC Playoffs and will play their opening round match on Friday, May 7th.  Their opponent has yet to be determined.
