The College of Saint Benedict Blazer tennis team (1-1 MIAC, 5-2 overall) lost their first non-conference game of the season in a 7-2 loss to Wisconsin Eau-Claire on Saturday morning.

The Blazers won in #1 doubles as senior Rachel Tiegs (Rochester, MN, Lourdes) and sophomore Lauren Jones (Ogden, UT, Saint Joseph Catholic) defeated Gina Dahl and Courtney Lynne 8-6.  The Blugolds then won seven of the next eight matches to put away CSB, including a 6-2, 1-6 (10-8) victory by Dahl over Tiegs and a win by Brenna McCormack over junior Kylie Huether (Sioux Falls, SD , Washington) at #2.  The other victory by Saint Benedict belonged to sophomore Alyson Brandell (Elk River, MN, Elk River) as she defeated Gretchen Bachmeir 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 at #6 singles.

The Blazers return to action on Sunday, March 28th against Macalester at 12 pm in St. Paul, MN.
