After a rough last weekend the Blazers improved at tonight's match. CSB is now 4-4 in the MIAC and 15-8 after tonight's victory. The College of Saint Benedict tennis team dominated the court with an 8-1 victory versus Bethel University.
CSB started strong and won all three of the doubles matches. In doubles #1 and #3 CSB was behind but came back. Junior captain
Rachel Tiegs (Rochester, MN, Lourdes) and first-year
Sarah Rossman (Rochester, MN, Lourdes) won 8-6. Junior
Katie Rudnitski (Gilman, MN, Foley)and sophomore
Elissa Husby (Duluth, MN, Marshall) also had a victory of 8-6. In the singles matches CSB won five of the six. First-year
Megan Seipel (New London, MN, New London-Spicer) dominated the court with a victory of 6-1, 6-1. First-year
Alyson Brandell (Elk River, MN, Elk River) won 6-1, 6-0. Sophomore captain
Kylie Huether (Sioux Falls, SD , Washington) had a victory of 6-1, 6-3.
The Blazers return to the court on Saturday April 25th to take on Saint Mary's University at 2:00 pm in Saint Joseph.
