The College of Saint Benedict slipped to Macalester College on Sunday March 29th. CSB had a close match, but lost 5-4.
The Blazers started off by capturing two of the three wins in the doubles matches. Sophomore captain Kylie Huether (Sioux Falls, SD , Washington) and first-year Alyson Brandell (Elk River, MN, Elk River) dominated the court with an 8-3 victory. Junior Katie Rudnitski (Gilman, MN, Foley) and first-year Lauren Jones (Ogden, UT, Saint Joseph Catholic) won 8-4. CSB struggled in the singles and won two of the six matches. Sophomore Elissa Husby (Duluth, MN, Marshall) won 10-6 in the super-tie break. First-year Megan Seipel (New London, MN, New London-Spicer) collected the second victory with a 6-4, 6-1 finish.CSB is now 2-2 in the MIAC.
CSB will compete next on Friday April 3rd versus Minnesota State University Mankato at 4:30 pm in St. Peter. The Blazers will also take on rival St. Thomas on Sunday April 5th at 1:00 pm in St. Joseph.
