The College of Saint Benedict tennis team had a strong performance against Division II Winona State University. The Blazers won 5-4.
Once again the Blazers found themselves behind after the doubles matches 2-1. The only victory was from first-years
Lauren Jones (Ogden, UT, Saint Joseph Catholic) and
Alyson Brandell (Elk River, MN) with a score of 8-1. The Blazers bounced back in the singles matches to win 4 of the 6. CSB trailed 2-4 in the match with 3 singles matches left. Sophomore captain
Kylie Huether (Sioux Falls, SD , Washington) collected a point from her victory, 6-1, 6-3. Junior
Katie Rudnitski (Gilman, MN, Foley) fought hard and won 7-5, 6-4 to tie the match 4-4. First-year
Sarah Rossman (Rochester, MN, Lourdes) closed out the second super-tie break to win 7-1. The Blazers collected their 11th victory of the season.
The Blazers are now 11-4 in the season and 2-1 in the MIAC. CSB returns to the court March 28th to take on Bemidji State University at 1:00 pm at Gold's Gym.
