The College of Saint Benedict Blazers (4-3 MIAC, 8-4 overall) began their three game week with a victory, after defeating another MIAC foe Hamline Pipers (1-6 MIAC, 5-7 overall) today 1-0.  The Blazers have shut out six of their opponents this season. 

The Blazer offense took control early in the first half.  Scoring the solo goal of the game was junior forward Alison Tourville (Plymouth, MN , Robbinsdale Armstrong ) at the 17:02 mark.  Tourville was assisted by first year midfielder Heather Beshears (Maple Grove, MN, Maple Grove) .  Junior goalkeeper Shannon Strohm (Burnsville, MN, Apple Valley ) rejected four Piper shots at goal.

“We had a lot of opportunities at the end, but it was still a solid win,” head coach Kate McNeil said of the victory.

The Blazers will be back in action this Saturday, October 11th to host St. Kate's at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph, Minn.
