College of Saint Benedict Athletics

Senior Kenzie Young finished her college swimming career with four individual career-best times and one season-best swim and helped three relays make it into the top 10 in school history this past weekend at the 2018 MIAC Swim and Dive Championships. For her big performances for the College of Saint Benedict swim and dive team, Young is this week’s CSB Athlete of the Week.
 
Young made the championship finals in two individual events and scored 26 points individually for CSB. She swam the mile in 18:12.82, placing 10^th and recording a season-best time. Young placed eighth in the 100 fly with a 1:01.29 but went a 1:00.90 in prelims. This is the eighth fastest swim in CSB history. Lastly, Young swam the 200 Individual Medley and placed seventh with a time of 2:12.83 – the sixth-fastest time in CSB history. She also swam a career-best time during prelims.
 
Young participated in three relays for CSB, and all three made it into the top 10 in school history. The 200 medley relay swam the eighth-fastest time in CSB history in 1:50.52; the 800 free relay finished in the eighth-fastest in CSB history with a time of 8:03.52, and the 400 medley relay swam the sixth-fastest time in CSB history in 5:06.43.
 
Young wrapped up her four-year career with seven individual times in the top 10 in CSB history and as part of four relays in top 10 in CSB history. She finished in the top eight in the MIAC five times over the course of her four trips to the conference championships.
