Maggie Pomerenke has been tough to beat on the one-meter diving board this season, and this weekend  was no exception.
Â
Pomerenke is this week’s College of Saint Benedict Athlete of the Week after her first-place finish in the one-meter diving competition at the University of St. Thomas Invite this past weekend. Pomerenke, a sophomore on the CSB swim and div team, placed first out of 15 divers with a score of 232.80 points, which is more than 18 points better than the second-place diver.
Â
This top finish for Pomerenke marks her fourth straight win on the one-meter boards, which leaves her undefeated so far this season. To add to her accomplishments, Pomerenke holds the best one-meter diving score in the MIAC so far this season with a mark of 234.55, which she scored at a dual meet against St. Thomas on Nov. 18.
Â
Also this past weekend, Pomerenke dove in the three-meter competition for the second time and placed ninth in the competition. She scored a 141.90 on the three-meter, which is already 60 points better than her previous score at the St. Thomas dual meet on Nov. 18 when she competed in the three-meter competition for the first time.
Â
Pomerenke will be diving alongside the rest of the CSB swim and dive team at their next dual meet on Saturday, Dec. 9, at St. Kate’s for the second MIAC dual meet of the season.
