College of Saint Benedict

After missing her last two cross country seasons due to an injury and study abroad, senior Allison Kosobud is making a remarkable comeback in the sport. With continuous improvement in her times and her outstanding finishes in her races this season, she is this week’s College of Saint Benedict Athlete of the Week.
 
On Saturday in the Tori Neubauer Invite in Ettrick, Wis., Kosobud finished 11^th out of 335 total runners. This was the best finish for a CSB individual at this invite since 2014. Her 6K time of 23:01 is tied for the seventh-best time in CSB history and improves her previous personal best time this season by 44 seconds. She completed a 6K at the St. Olaf Invite in 23:45.
 
Saturday’s finish marked Kosobud’s fourth time being CSB’s top finisher in a race this season. Because of her achievements this season, Kosobud is part of the top 10 times in school history for the 5K and 6K races as she is tied for seventh in both. Kosobud made the top 10 list with her run in the 5K at the Charles Bowles Invite in Oregon two weeks ago.
 
Kosobud and her CSB teammates are off now until Saturday, Oct. 29, when they travel to Como Park in St. Paul for the 2016 MIAC Championships.
