Anne Sumangil '99 is the coach of the dance team and director of alumnae relations at the College of Saint Benedict. Anne began dancing as a child; was a cheerleader in high school; and was on the College of Saint Benedict dance team. While in college, she was a member of the Asian Student Association and studied abroad in Segovia, Spain.
After college, Anne was the first CSB dance team alumna to go pro when she cheered for the Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders. Following her time on the field, she served on the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleader Alumni Board. Anne also judges and has coordinated cheerleading and dance competitions on a local, national and international level.
In addition to coaching, Anne is on a competitive hip-hop team and is a licensed Zumba instructor. She has been involved with local ambassador programs since being Miss Crystal, Minn., in 1999, and an Aquatennial Princess in 2001. She also volunteered as the Director of the Queen of the Lakes Scholarship Program and Vice President of the Aquatennial Ambassador Organization. A fun fact about Anne is that she is a Suzuki-trained concert pianist through the McPhail Center for the Arts.
Anne began coaching the dance team in 2014 and has coached the team to the finals of the Universal Dance Team College Nationals every year. Anne has a degree in management from the College of Saint Benedict and a Master's degree in Human Resource Development from the University of Minnesota.
