2000 Cross Country Review

2000 Season Review

The Blazer Cross Country team met tough competition head-on the entire season and came away with experience in big races and confidence for years to come.  CSB started the season with two big meets with many nationally ranked opponents.  The Blazers finished 10th in the Saint Olaf invite and 7th out of 16 DII and DIII schools at the prestigious Notre Dame invitational in South Bend, Indiana.

After returning from out of state, Saint Ben’s took two third place finishes at another Saint Olaf Invitational and Duluth.  CSB finished in 7th place in the MIAC Cross Country Championships and the runners that paced them the entire season led the way around Saint Paul’s Como Golf course.  Senior Colleen Gross finished in 27th place covering the 5K course in a time of 20:14.  Juniors Nicole St. Clair, Beth Sexton, and Jennifer Sayler finished 28th, 31st, and 34th respectively. The Blazers finished their season with a 10th place finish at the Central Region Championships in Wartburg, Iowa.
