2002 Cross Country Review

2002 Season Review

In her sixth year with the program, head coach Robin Balder-Lanoue led the CSB cross-country team to an all around successful season.  The Blazers had 23 returning runners among the 34 runners on its roster.  When combined with a very talented first-year class, the Blazer cross-country team was bound to have a season of great achievements.

The Blazers finished in third place out of 12 teams in the MIAC Championships on November 2, at Como Park.   First-year runner Leah Wurm was the top finisher for the Blazers placing fourth overall.  CSB capped off their team competition with an eighth place finish at the NCAA Central Regionals held in Grinnell, IA.  Wurm was again the top individual runner for the Blazers, finishing in fifth place.  Wurm also qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships held in Northfield, MN, where she finished in 59th place out of 215 competitors.
