1991 Cross Country Review

1991 Season Review

During the races, as well as in the classroom, the 1991 Blazer cross country team proved that they were "leaders of the pack."   Not only was the cross country team at or near the front of their races, but they also led the way among NCAA Division III cross country teams in the classroom.  CSB was the top academic cross country team in the nation with a 3.633 fall team grade point average (GPA).

Season highlights included winning the National Catholic Championships  College Division title in late September, and talking home fourth place honors among 26 teams at the NCAA Division II Central Region Championships.  The Blazers also ended the season in fifth place in the MIAC.

Junior Katy Deignan's, Monroe, Wis., outstanding performance at the NCAA Division III National Championships left a mark in the Blazers history books.  Deignan became CSB's first cross country national qualifier well-deserved 20th place ranking in the final national pole.
