1993 Season Review
There was a new addition to the Blazer cross country family this fall --- well, actually two. Ellen Carpenter was named the new Blazer cross country head coach in July. In October, Ellen and her husband Chuck gave birth to their first child, Katie. The adjustment of a new team and a new family made for a hectic fall for the Carpenter family.
Highlights of the season included second place finishes in the St. Cloud State Invitational and the SJU Invitational. The Blazers also ran well in the Nike Invitational and the Jim Drews Invitational coming in 13th in meets against fields of 24 and 26 teams respectively. After finishing in sixth place in the MIAC Championships in October, the Blazer cross country team placed 10th at the NCAA Central Region meet.
Seven seniors move on after graduating, but leave the future of the cross country team in the capable hands of some very talented runners.
