High School: A 2009 graduate of La Crescent High School, Franta was coached by Mark Abraham and participated in cross country (four years), track and field (four years) and gymnastics (four years) during her athletic career at La Crescent. Franta is a four-time state tournament participant in cross country as well as a state tournament participant in track and gymnastics. She is a three-time All-Conference selection in cross country and All-State Academic in cross country and track. In2009, Franta was named the female athlete of the year at La Crescent.

Personal: Franta is the daughter of Cheryl and Peter Franta of La Crescent, Minn. Her father, uncles, and brother attended SJU.  Franta enjoys running, gymnastics, cooking, baking, reading, water sports, and jewelry making.  She is majoring in nutrition with a minor in hispanic studies. 

What is your proudest moment of your career? 
"My proudest moment of my career was when I ran for 7th for the Blazers at the 2011 MIAC meet and eventually went to run at Regionals."
 
What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? 
"Being on a collegiate team is like having a second family. There's just the right amount of pressure to succeed both academically and athletically. It's a great feeling knowing that when you get up to the line, you have 40+ Blazers cheering you on."
