ST. JOSEPH, Minn. - The College of Saint Benedict soccer team will make a trip to St. Catherine University for a big Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) match Saturday, Sept. 26. Action is slated to begin at 1 p.m. 

 

The Bennies (6-0-1, 1-0-1 MIAC) enter the contest off a 1-1 tie with Gustavus Adolphus College Saturday, Sept. 19. CSB's lone goal of the game came from sophomore Elly Prairie (Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park), while first-year Mia Schellenberg (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) assisted on the score, the first helper of her young career. 

 

First-year Eva Gower (Plymouth, Minn./Orono) leads the team with six goals and 14 points, ranking her 40th and 41st across Division III, respectively. Prairie and first-year Lilly DeRosier (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd) are tied for second with four scores and nine points apiece. Gower and sophomore Veronica Warren (North Oaks, Minn./Mounds View) top the team with two assists each.  

 

Sophomore Anna Mollenhauer (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna) leads the team with 17 saves spanning 180 minutes in goal. She brings in a 2-0 record along with a .944 save percentage. Senior Rhianna Anya (Bloomington, Minn./Thomas Jefferson Sr.) has been in goal for a team-high 225 minutes. Over the time, she has made six saves while allowing just one goal, good for a 0.40 goals allowed average.  

 

Since 2001, CSB and St. Kate's (4-3, 1-1 MIAC) have met 29 times. The Bennies own a 17-10-2 record all-time, but the Wildcats have been the winners of the last three meetings. With a draw in the mix to break up St. Kate's win streak, Saint Ben's looks to secure its first win over the Wildcats since 2017. Most recently, the Bennies fell 3-nil Oct. 18, 2025. Anya made a career-high 13 saves in goal during the contest, logging all 90 minutes between the posts. St. Catherine most recently defeated University of Wisconsin-Superior, 1-nil, Wednesday night, Sept. 23.
