Golf Eyes Fall D3 Classic

Bennies kick off weekend with 1:30 p.m. shotgun start

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. - After opening the 2026-27 season at home, the College of Saint Benedict golf team will embark on its first road trip, as the Bennies head to the Fal D3 Classic, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College, Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 12-13. The tournament will take place in Hastings, Minn. at the Emerald Greens Golf Course. Saturday's round will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m., while Sunday's shotgun start will begin at 7:30 a.m. 
 
Saint Ben's most recently finished fourth at the CSB Fall Invite Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 5-6. Junior Sophia Anderson (Albany, Minn./Albany) led the team, as she finished in a tie for sixth behind rounds of six-over 78 and three-over 75. Three Bennies joined Anderson within the top-20. Sophomore Layla Mathews (Becker, Minn./Becker) impressed in her CSB debut, as she posted rounds of 77 and 81 to finish with a career-low 36-hole score of 158, good for 13th. Junior Kenna Henriksen (Olivia, Minn./BOLD) followed in a tie for 16th after rounds of 78 and 82, a 36-hole total of 160, just a stroke shy of matching her career-best total. First-year Lillias Savageau (Oak Grove, Minn./St. Francis) rounded out the Bennies within the top-20. Playing on the 'B' team, Savageau notched a tie for 20th behind two rounds of, good for a total of 164. 
 
CSB's roster will feature Anderson, Henriksen, Mathews, first-year Hallie Johnson (Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing) and junior Avery Maus (Kimball, Minn./Kimball Area). Sophomore Isabella Anlauf (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) and Savageau will be competing as individuals.
