KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The College of Saint Benedict soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award, announced by the organization Friday, Aug. 7. It is the 20th time in program history that the Bennies have reeled in the accolade. 

 

Under the direction of head coach Steve Kimble, the 2025 squad put together a 3.67 GPA for the 2025-26 academic year. 

 

To receive the honor, a program must post a team GPA average of 3.0 or higher. In total, 777 teams (326 men, 451 women) earned the accolade. 

 

Saint Benedict was one of nine Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference institutions to earn the award. The Bennies were joined by Augsburg University, Bethel University, Carleton College, Gustavus Adolphus College, Hamline University, Macalester College, St. Catherine University, and St. Olaf College.  

 

CSB opens the 2026 season Tuesday, Sept. 1, as the Bennies host University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Action is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. at CSB Stadium.
