MADISON, Wis. – Twenty-one College of Saint Benedict lacrosse student-athletes were selected to the 2026 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Scholastic Honor Roll on Thursday, July 30.

Student-athletes must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale to qualify for WIAC honor roll recognition. 

Athletically, student-athletes must be a member of a WIAC-sponsored, varsity team and be academically and athletically eligible. The student-athlete must have utilized a season of participation (per NCAA and WIAC definitions) and have remained on the sports roster through the conclusion of the sports season.

Those honored (listed alphabetically) include:

-Sophomore defender Paige Abbott (Mendota Heights, Minn./Visitation), an exercise and health science major;
-First-year attacker Bella Brisk (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino), a nursing major;
-Junior midfielder Tess Cavanaugh (Edina, Minn./Visitation), an economics major;
-Sophomore midfielder Merrill Delich (Andover, Minn.), a finance and economics double-major;
-Sophomore midfielder Lilly Fandel Thompson (St. Louis Park, Minn.), a global business leadership major;
-First-year goalie Ashley Fischer (Madison Lake, Minn./Mankato East), an environmental studies major;
-Senior midfielder Grace Fitzgibbons (Minneapolis, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels), a global business leadership and computer science double-major;
-Junior defender Jenna Fodstad (Rogers, Minn.), an accounting major;
-Senior attacker Sami Hackley (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata), a biology major; 
-Sophomore midfielder Leah Hahs (Lakeville, Minn./North), an environmental studies major; 
-First-year defender Kate Hennessy (Woodbury, Minn./Hill Murray), a nursing major; 
-Sophomore defender Vanessa Hoover (Ramsey, Minn./Anoka), an elementary education major; 
-Sophomore attacker Hannah Kurowski (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley), a nursing and psychology double-major;
-First-year midfielder Rayna Malmberg (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area), a nursing major;
-Sophomore attacker Ava Mosley (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area), a global business leadership and economics double-major;
-Sophomore midfielder Kamryn Peterson (Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes), a nursing major;
-Sophomore defender Mady Schreifels (Andover, Minn.), a computer science major;
-Junior attacker Lizzie Schrubbe (Andover, Minn.), an exercise and health science (pre-physical therapy emphasis) major;
-First-year midfielder Helena Siska (Naperville, Ill./North), an accounting and finance double-major;
-Senior attacker Ella Steinke (Plymouth, Minn./Armstrong), a biology major;
-First-year midfielder Emma Theisen (Rosemount, Minn.), a biology major.

The honor was the second for Abbott, Cavanaugh, Fandel Thompson, Fitzgibbons, Fodstad, Hackley, Hahs, Hoover, Kurowski, Mosley, Peterson, Schreifels and Schrubbe.

Three of the 21 – Cavanaugh, Delich and Fandel Thompson – were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District at-large team June 16.

The Bennies (6-7, 4-4 WIAC) finished fifth in the WIAC and earned their second-consecutive berth to the conference playoffs where they fell to UW-Eau Claire in the quarterfinals. Five players earned All-WIAC honors and first-year midfielder Rayna Malmberg (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area) was named the WIAC Newcomer of the Year.
