ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict athletic department celebrated the accomplishments of the 2025-26 athletic year in May with its annual student-athlete celebration. Twelve Bennies were announced as finalists for the annual CSB Rookie of the Year award, presented to the top newcomer of the season in each sport.

Emma Theisen (Rosemount, Minn.) was named CSB basketball's finalist for the award.
She started in all 25 games for CSB led the team in rebounding (5.9 rpg) and ranked 11th in the league in total rebounds (147). She averaged 6.3 points per game on 36.5 percent shooting from the floor. She also hauled in 33 steals and 28 assists.
Theisen ranked second on the team with 12 blocks and played in double-digit minutes in every game, averaging 27.2 for the season, which ranked fifth on the team. She totaled a season-high in points (14) and rebounds (12) in the team's season finale vs. Augsburg on Feb. 21.
A dual-sport student-athlete, Theisen also appeared in al 13 of CSB lacrosse's games, starting in 10. She scored 29 goals (3rd/team) and nine assists (4th/team) for 38 points (4th/team). She also led the Bennies with a pair of game-winning goals and 18 caused turnovers.
CSB tied for sixth in the MIAC with an 11-7 record (16-9 overall), the fifth season in a row the Bennies have eclipsed 15 wins.
