 NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Morgan Hanlin and Reese Laposky of the College of Saint Benedict track and field team competed in their first MIAC heptathlon as the conference multi-event competition concluded Friday.

Morgan Hanlin (Red Wing, Minn.) placed 12th in the heptathlon with 3,816 points, highlighted by a personal-best in the 200 meters (26.35) for 767 points (third place). She also recorded a personal-best in the 800 meters (2:33.28) to earn 652 points (10th place) and added another PR in the javelin (22.43m – 73-07), placing 11th for 334 points. Hanlin finished ninth in the long jump (4.93m – 16-02.25) for 540 points, 14th in the shot put (8.33m – 27-04.00) for 421 points, and 18th in the high jump (1.36m – 4-05.50) for 470 points. She also placed 14th in the 100-meter hurdles (16.69) for 632 points.

Reese Laposky (Pequot Lakes, Minn.) finished 17th overall with 3,565 points and posted three top-10 finishes. She placed seventh in the high jump (1.51m – 4-11.50) for 632 points, eighth in the javelin (28.70m – 94-02) for 452 points, and eighth in the long jump (4.98m – 16-04.25) for 554 points. Laposky added a personal-best in the 800 meters (2:50.06) to score 463 points (17th place). She finished 11th in the shot put (8.78m – 28-09.75) for 450 points. She was 17th in the 100-meter hurdles (17.91) for 498 points and recorded a personal-best of 29.52 in the 200 meters to place 18th and score 516 points.

Claire Stein of St. Olaf won the heptathlon with 4,604 points.
