MADISON, Wis. — First-year goalkeeper
Ashley Fischer (Madison Lake, Minn.) of the College of Saint Benedict lacrosse team (6-6, 4-4 WIAC) was named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday (April 28).

The honor marks Fischer's second career weekly award and the second time a CSB lacrosse player has earned the distinction during the program's second season in the WIAC.
Fischer helped lead the Bennies to a pair of victories and a second consecutive WIAC Tournament berth. CSB will face UW-Eau Claire (7-5, 5-3 WIAC) on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Eau Claire, Wis.
In wins over Hamline (19-5) and UW-Stevens Point (22-4), Fischer allowed just nine total goals (4.5 per game) while making 12 saves for a .571 save percentage. She also contributed six ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Through 12 games (720 minutes), Fischer owns an 8.42 goals-against average with 101 saves and 101 goals allowed. She has added 30 ground balls and seven caused turnovers this season.
