Ava Mosley (Stillwater, Minn.) scored five goals and added two assists, while senior
Sami Hackley (Plymouth, Minn.) contributed three goals and two assists to lead the College of Saint Benedict lacrosse team (4-5, 2-3 WIAC) to a 19-5 win over UW-Stout (5-8, 0-6 WIAC) in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action Wednesday at CSB Turf Field.
With five points (three goals, two assists), Hackley surpassed the 200-point milestone and now sits at 201 for her career as the Bennies secured their second straight victory. CSB held a 45-24 advantage in shots and a 17-10 edge in draw controls, while reaching 19 or more goals for the fourth time this season.
Hackley, who leads the team with 31 goals and 10 assists for 41 points, pushed her career totals to a program-best 201 points, including a record 162 goals and 39 assists. She has recorded eight consecutive multi-goal games, including five straight with at least two goals.
Mosley finished with seven points, one shy of her career high, totaling five goals and two assists. She now has 28 goals and eight assists for 36 points this year. Sophomore
Kamryn Peterson (Lindstrom, Minn.) added a career-high three goals. Sophomore
Lilly Fandel Thompson (St. Louis Park, Minn.) recorded two goals and an assist, while first-year
Emma Theisen (Rosemount, Minn.) contributed two goals, an assist, and three draw controls. First-year
Rayna Malmberg (Stillwater, Minn.) added a goal, two caused turnovers, and three draw controls.
Helena Siska and
Grace Fitzgibbons each scored once.
In goal, first-year
Ashley Fischer (Madison Lake, Minn.) made 10 saves, reaching double digits for the fifth time this season.
The Bennies opened a 7-1 lead and held a 9-2 advantage after the first quarter. A 6-1 edge in the second period extended the lead to 15-3 at halftime. CSB outscored UW-Stout 4-2 in the second half to secure the 19-5 victory.
CSB went 16-of-17 on clears and held a 25-8 advantage in ground balls.
The Bennies return to action Saturday, April 18, hosting UW–La Crosse at noon.
