Mosley and Hackley score three goals each but CSB lacrosse falls to No. 24 Colorado College

Hackley has pushed her school record goal total to 151 on the season

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – Despite strong offensive performances from sophomore Ava Mosley (Stillwater, Minn.) and senior Sami Hackley (Plymouth, Minn.), the College of Saint Benedict lacrosse team fell, 14-6, to No. 24 Colorado College (5-3, 1-0 W(AC) on Friday at CSB Athletics Turf Field. The Bennies move to 2-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play with the loss.

Hackley led the way with three goals, continuing her record-setting career. The senior now has 151 career goals and 186 total points, both marks ranking first in program history. Her latest outing also marked her 37th career multi-goal game, as she continues to pace CSB this season with 20 goals and 26 points. Mosley added three goals of her own, increasing her season totals to 18 goals and 23 points. CSB had four assists from junior Lizzie Schrubbe, who now has a team-high 14 on the season and her 82 career assists is a program-best. Sophomore Lilly Fandel Thompson (St. Louis Park, Minn.) also had an assist.

In goal, first-year Ashley Fischer (Madison Lake, Minn.) recorded 10 saves, notching her third consecutive game with double-digit stops.

CSB started strong, taking a 2-1 lead early in the opening period behind goals from Hackley and Mosley. However, Colorado College responded with a decisive surge, scoring six unanswered goals to seize control of the game. Charlotte Iler accounted for three of those goals during the run, helping the Tigers build a 7-2 advantage by halftime.

At the break, Colorado College held a 10-4 edge in shots on goal and a slight 14-12 lead in ground balls. The Bennies' defense created opportunities by forcing 12 turnovers in the first half, but the Tigers controlled possession with an 8-1 advantage in draw controls.

The Tigers extended their lead in the third quarter, using a 4-0 run to push the score to 11-2 heading into the final period. CSB showed resilience late, scoring four goals in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 13-6, but Colorado College added a goal in the closing seconds to secure the final margin.

Overall, the Tigers finished with a 37-20 advantage in shots, while also leading 24-20 in ground balls and 14-7 in draw controls. CSB converted 12 of its 18 clear attempts, compared to 10-of-12 for Colorado College.

The Bennies will look to bounce back on Wednesday, April 1, when they travel to UW-Eau Claire.
