ST. JOSEPH, Minn. — After another standout weekend in goal, first-year goaltender Lexi Badali has been named The House / St. Cloud Orthopedics College of Saint Benedict Athlete of the Week, adding to an already impressive list of honors.
Badali also earned Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week recognition after leading the (RV) Bennies to a split with (RV) Gustavus Adolphus. It marks her second MIAC weekly honor of the season, having previously received the award on Dec. 8, 2025.
Over 119 minutes and 48 seconds of action, Badali allowed just one goal while making 67 saves. She finished the weekend with a 0.50 goals-against average and a .985 save percentage, anchoring a Saint Benedict defense that kept Gustavus off the scoreboard until late in the third period of Saturday's contest.
Badali opened the series with a historic performance Friday night, stopping all 30 shots she faced in a 3–0 victory. The shutout was the first by a CSB goaltender against Gustavus in program history. She followed that effort with 37 saves in Saturday's 2–0 loss, surrendering her only goal of the weekend in the final minutes of regulation.
The split left Saint Benedict tied with Gustavus for third place in the MIAC standings. With four games remaining in the regular season, the Bennies hold a 12-5-4 overall record and are 7-4-3 in conference play.
Badali continues to rank among the MIAC's top goaltenders, sitting second in the league in saves per game (29.43) and total saves (412). Her .941 save percentage ranks third, while her 1.72 goals-against average is fifth-best in the conference. She is 8-4-3 on the season with two shutouts.
Badali and the Bennies return to action Feb. 13–14 with a pivotal home-and-home series against No. 2 Augsburg.
