Bennies to celebrate four seniors following match

10/13/2026

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. - A special Wednesday night feature is on deck for the College of Saint Benedict soccer team, as the Bennies will celebrate Senior Night Oct. 14 for their 4 p.m. bout with Hamline University.

The match will celebrate the careers of seniors Anna Jones (Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee), Olivia Smith (Rogers, Minn./Rogers), Avery Soli (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine) and Rhianna Anya (Bloomington, Minn./Thomas Jefferson Sr.). The group has helped put together an overall record of 30-26-8 and a 17-17-5 mark in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) action.

CSB enters the contest with a 9-1-1 overall record, having gone 4-1-1 against MIAC opponents. The Bennies enter off their second consecutive shutout after besting Augsburg University, 4-nil, Saturday, Oct. 10. It marks Saint Benedict's first win over AU since 2022. Four different players got in on the scoring action for the visitors, as sophomore Elly Prairie (Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park), junior Jessica Decowski (Eden Prairie, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret), Soli and first-year Eva Gower (Plymouth, Minn./Orono) all found the back of the net. Soli, Gower, and sophomores Tatum Janezich (Rogers, Minn./Providence Academy) and Allison Cammerrer (Savage, Minn./Prior Lake) each tallied an assist. Logging all 90 minutes in goal, Anya recorded her second straight shutout, making one save in the match. It is the senior's second shutout of the season, the fourth of her career.

Entering the midweek match, Gower tops the team with seven goals and 18 points. Prairie closely follows with six goals and 15 points, while first-year Lilly DeRosier (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd) rounds out the top three with five scores and 11 points. Gower and Cammerrer are tied atop the team with four assists, followed by three from Prairie. Together, the trio leads a CSB offense that ranks first in the MIAC and 16th nationally in assists per game, averaging 2.82.

In goal for Saint Benedict, sophomore Anna Mollenhauer (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna) leads the way with 20 saves, having spent 225 minutes between the iron. Anya has logged a team-best 495 minutes in goal, recording 17 saves behind a .850 save percentage and .50 GAA. The senior holds a 4-1 record on the year, including a pair of shutouts.

Saint Ben's will face Hamline (4-7-2, 0-5-1 MIAC) for the 35th time since 1991, owning a commanding 31-2-1 advantage in the series. Dating back to 2008, CSB has only lost once (3-1, 2016) and tied once (0-0, 2024) when facing the Pipers. The most recent meeting saw the Bennies snag a 1-nil win on the road Nov. 1, 2025. Now-sophomore Laila Totushek (Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park) scored the lone goal of the game, recording the first goal of her young career. Now-sophomore Claire McGrath (Stillwater, Minn./Hill-Murray) notched the shutout behind two saves over the 90 minutes. HU enters the battle off a 1-nil loss at Carleton College Saturday, Oct. 10.
