ST. JOSEPH, Minn. — First-year center Helena Siska (Naperville, Ill.), who recorded a hat trick for the College of Saint Benedict hockey team in a 3-1 home victory over UW-Superior, has been named The House / St. Cloud Orthopedics CSB Athlete of the Week honor.
 

It marks the first CSB weekly award for Siska, who has quickly emerged as a key contributor for CSB. Through the opening stretch of the season, she leads the Bennies in goals (five), shots (35) and points (nine) as the team has compiled a 6-2-3 record.

Siska's three-goal performance was historic for the program. It was the sixth hat trick by a CSB player since 2016 and just the second time in school history the Bennies have recorded multiple hat tricks in the same season. The previous occurrence came during the 2023–24 campaign by Aurora Opsahl and Ava Stinnett, while senior Presley Kraemer added a hat trick earlier this season on Nov. 30 against Lake Forest. Siska also became the first CSB first-year player in 10 years to record a hat trick.

Against UW-Superior, Siska was active all over the ice, firing five shots and winning 12 of 18 faceoffs. She opened the scoring late in the first period with an even-strength goal at 19:49. In the third period, she took control of the game, scoring an unassisted goal just 3:33 into the frame to give CSB a 2-1 lead before completing the hat trick at 9:50.

Over the two-game weekend, Siska won 22 of 36 faceoffs and helped the Bennies post a 1-0-1 record.

Siska and the College of Saint Benedict will return to action this weekend when they host Dubuque in nonconference play Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. at Ritsche Arena in St. Cloud.
