ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – Led by senior Addison Stephani's two goals, the College of Saint Benedict soccer team (4-5-0, 2-0-0 MIAC) rolled to a 4-0 win over St. Scholastica (2-5-2, 0-1-1 MIAC) in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conferece (MIAC) play on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the CSB Turf Field.

The win marked CSB's third straight, with a remarkable combined scoring margin of 12-2 over the stretch. The Bennies improved to 4-5-0 overall and remained perfect in MIAC play at 2-0-0.

The CSB/St. Scholastica game, which was resumed after being suspended due to inclement weather on Sept. 17, started off quietly — scoreless at halftime — before Stephani and the Bennies came alive in the second half. It was Stephani who cracked the game open just 49 seconds into the second period, scoring her fourth goal of the season off a smart assist from first-year Abby Paloranta, who picked up her first career point.

But Stephani wasn't finished.

After CSB built a 3-0 lead with goals from first-year Elly Prairie (58:52, assisted by Summer Seamans) and junior Summer Seamans, it was again the senior forward who found the back of the net in the final minutes. Her second goal of the game, and fifth of the season, came at 88:49 — this time set up by junior Avery Soli, who currently leads the team in scoring with 12 points. With the two goals, Stephani now sits just behind Soli with 11 points on the season and is tied with her for the team lead in goals.

The performance also pushed Stephani's career totals to nine goals and 25 points, underscoring her steady offensive presence throughout her time in a Bennies uniform.

While Stephani's finishing touch made the headlines, the team's overall dominance was clear. CSB outshot St. Scholastica, 25-12, including a 13-7 edge in the second half, and kept the pressure high throughout. Goalkeepers Rhianna Anya and Claire McGrath combined for the shutout — the second in three games for the Bennies. Anya handled the first 34 minutes with two saves, while McGrath closed out the final 55 minutes, turning away four shots.

Next up for Stephani and the Bennies is a key MIAC road matchup against Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 3:30 p.m. in St. Peter, Minn.
