ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – Four standout student-athletes from the College of Saint Benedict tennis program –
Sophia Jonas,
Ella Marohl,
Kate Perbix, and
Ryanna Steinhaus – have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for their exceptional performance on the court and in the classroom.
For just the second time in program history, four CSB tennis players have earned Academic All-District recognition in the same season, matching the 2022–23 achievement by Maria Bedford,
Ashley Tarrolly,
Jane Bodensteiner, and
Peyton Kopel. With this year's honorees, the CSB tennis program now boasts 14 all-time Academic All-District selections, with 11 of those coming in the past three years, underscoring the program's strong tradition of academic and athletic excellence.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 3, 2025.

Sophia Jonas, a senior accounting major from Hudson, Wis., earned Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive year in tennis, adding to her impressive academic résumé. She is now a five-time CSC Academic All-District honoree, including three selections in basketball—making her the only student-athlete in CSB history to earn five total Academic All-District honors. On the court, Jonas compiled 21 career singles wins and 25 career doubles victories. She is also a two-time Academic All-MIAC selection in tennis (four-time overall) and a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete.
Ella Marohl, a sophomore nursing major from St. Cloud, Minn., received her first Academic All-District honor. She tallied four singles wins at the No. 2 position and seven doubles victories during the 2024–25 season. Marohl was also named an ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2023–24.
Kate Perbix, a sophomore biochemistry/pre-medicine major from Elk River, Minn., also received her first Academic All-District nod. Perbix earned five singles wins and seven doubles wins in 2024–25, bringing her career doubles total to 14 victories. Like Marohl, she was honored as an ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2023–24.
Ryanna Steinhaus, a sophomore biology major from Litchfield, Minn., earned her first Academic All-District selection. Steinhaus has collected nine career singles victories, including five this past season, along with three doubles wins in her collegiate career. She was recognized as an ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2023–24.
Together, these four student-athletes helped lead the Bennies to a 7–11 overall record and a 2–8 mark in MIAC play during the 2024–25 season.
