ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After seven straight wins, the College of Saint Benedict lacrosse team (10-5) has earned the number two seed and will face No. 3 seeded Wisconsin-Eau Claire (10-6) in the WIAC Playoffs which open on Friday, May 2 at Sonnentag Fieldhouse in Eau Claire, Wis.
St. Ben's is one of four teams which will play in the playoffs on May 2-3 in Eau Claire, Wis. The top seeded and regular season champion Colorado College (16-3) will face No. 4 UW-LaCrosse (10-5) at 3 p.m., in the other semifinal matchup.
The winners of the two semifinals games will play at 5:30 p.m., for the league championship and berth in the NCAA DIII playoffs which open with the first-round on May 10. The WIAC playoffs will also include third-place game between the two non-advancing teams at 3 p.m., May 3.
This is the initial year in the WIAC for CSB lacrosse, which is an affiliate member in the league. The Bennies, which won two Midwest Lacrosse Conference titles in 2023 and 2024, finished second in its first year in the WIAC. Colorado College was 9-0 in the WIAC with CSB at 7-2 and UW-Eau Claire, 7-2 tied for second. CSB had a 12-6 win over the Blugolds to earn the second seed. UW-LaCrosse was 6-3 and tied with UW-River Falls for fourth place but held the tiebreaker to earn the playoff berth.
