ST. CLOUD, Minn. – On Senior Day, a pair of seniors,
Ava Stinnett and
Jenna Timm, led the College of Saint Benedict hockey team (12-10-3, 9-8-1 MIAC) to a 5-2 MIAC win over Concordia-Moorhead at Ritsche Arena.
In addition to the performances of the two seniors, sophomore
Ella Tuccitto had a pair of goals in the victory and has six on the season. Timm had three points, including her seventh goal, and two assists for 10 on the season. Stinnett scored her sixth goal of the season and 31
st of her career, a mark that ranks 10
th all-time in program history.
With the win, St. Ben's closed the regular season with a 12-10-3 record, including 9-8-1 in MIAC play for sixth place and just two points out of a playoff spot.
As a result, the nine seniors honored in a post-game Senior Day celebration, finished with 47 wins in the past four years, including double-digit wins in each of the seasons for just the second time in school history. In addition, the nine seniors had 33 conference wins.
Timm finished the 2024-25 season with seven goals and 10 assists and tied fellow senior
Aurora Opsahl with 17 points on the season. Timm now has 19 career goals and 40 assists for 59 points. The 40 assists places Timm in fifth place all-time at CSB. And, her 59 points ranks ninth all-time in school history.
Concordia opened the scoring at 40 seconds into the first period off the sixth goal of the season by Memphis Mertens with assists from Taylyn Cope and Morgan Sauvageau.
Tuccitto scored her first of two goals at 11:27 of the first period to draw CSB even with the Cobbers. Timm had her first assist of the night on the even strength goal. The Bennies took a 2-1 lead at 18:20 of the first period on a power play goal by senior
Ava Stinnett, who took assists from Timm and
Presley Kraemer (sixth assist, season).
At 3:43 of the second period, the Cobbers' Camryn Iverson scored her second goal of the season, assisted by Keira Borreson, to tie the game at 2-2.
After that, St. Ben's took control, beginning with Tuccitto's second goal of the night on a power play off a rebound shot at 10:39 of the second period.
Ahead 3-2 after two periods, the Bennies put the game away with an even strength goal from
Jenna Timm (10:44) and empty net goal from senior
Shauna Miller (19:41) in the final stanza.
Overall, the Bennies had a 30-to-25 shots advantage, including 13-to-4 in the first period and 12-to-8 in the second period. Tuccitto led CSB with five shots. In goal, senior
Kate Moffat allowed two goals and had 23 saves as she finished with 1,158 career saves for seventh all-time. She also recorded her 21
st career win – 9
th of the season – as she ranks second all-time in school history.
