ST. JOSEPH, Minn. — Senior Megan Morgan (Winona, Minn.) of the College of Saint Benedict basketball team has been named The House / St. Cloud Orthopedics CSB Athlete of the Week following a standout performance in a home victory over Gustavus Adolphus.

Megan Morgan
Morgan scored a game-high 21 points and added nine rebounds to lead CSB to a 67-45 win over the Gusties on Dec. 10 at Claire Lynch Hall. The victory snapped a 10-game losing streak in the series for the Bennies and marked their first win over Gustavus Adolphus since Jan. 29, 2020, as well as their first home win against GAC since Dec. 1, 2018. With the win, CSB improved to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in MIAC play.

An All-MIAC selection a season ago, Morgan shot 6-for-13 from the field, including 4-for-8 from three-point range, and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line against the Gusties. She also recorded three steals while playing 35 minutes and eclipsed the 800-point mark for her career, finishing the night with 801 points.

The exercise and health science major posted her eighth double-digit scoring performance of the season and the 38th of her career. Through 10 games, Morgan is averaging 12.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.

CSB will return to action Jan. 3 when the Bennies travel to Augsburg for a MIAC matchup.
