Sophia Jonas and
Greta Nesbit have been named to the All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Tennis Team in an announcement by the league office today (Tuesday, May 7).
This is the second straight year CSB has had four players honored by the MIAC in the same year. Tarrolly was named to the singles all-conference team for a second straight year and earned her first doubles honor. She was also honored on the All-MIAC Playoff Team for the first-time. Senior
Peyton Kopel was named to the doubles team for a third straight year. Jonas earned selection to the doubles team as she was honored for the first time in tennis. She also has a pair of All-MIAC honors in basketball. Nesbit earned All-MIAC honors in doubles. In school history, the selection of four Bennies in 2024 pushes the all-time total to 90.
In 2023-24, the CSB tennis team finished the regular season at 7-10 and 5-5 in the MIAC. Directed by veteran Head Coach
Jack Bowe, CSB made its third straight appearance in the MIAC Postseason Tournament.
Tarrolly of St. Cloud, Minn., finished 8-6, including 5-5 in the MIAC, at No. 1 singles and 8-6 (7-3 in the MIAC) at No. 1 doubles this season. A year ago, she was named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators a year ago. An accounting major and Academic All-MIAC honoree a year ago, Tarrolly was regionally ranked No. 6 in singles in NCAA DIII Region VII in 2022-23 and also received votes this year. Tarrolly had a 22-11 record in her career in singles and 13-10 in MIAC play. In doubles, she was 20-16 overall in her career, which included 12-9 in MIAC play.
A senior from biology major from Foley, Minn., Kopel teamed with Nesbit at No. 2 doubles for an 10-7 overall and 8-2 MIAC record at No. 2 doubles. In 2022-23, Kopel was named to the All-MIAC doubles team as well as the Academic All-MIAC team for a second time. She was also named to the CSC Academic All-District Team. Kopel earned All-MIAC singles and doubles honors as a sophomore in 2021-22 - a first for the Bennies since 2015. In her career, she was 24-39 in singles and 16-23 in MIAC play. In doubles, Kopel had a 35-29 record, including 21-18 in the MIAC.
Nesbit, a junior mathematics major from Le Sueur, Minn., also had the 10-7 overall mark, including 8-2 in the MIAC, teaming with Kopel at No. 2 doubles. Named All-MIAC a year ago in singles, she now has an All-MIAC doubles honor. Nesbit, has a 26-25 overall career singles record, including 16-13 in MIAC play. In doubles, she stands 23-15 with a 16-8 mark in the MIAC.
Jonas, a junior accounting major from Hudson, Wis., teamed with Tarrolly at No. 1 doubles to go 10-5, including 7-3 in the MIAC. She is 17-21 in singles and 23-22 in doubles in her two years at CSB. Jonas now has three All-MIAC honors in two sports, including two in basketball. She was also CSC Academic All-District in basketball.
