ST. JOSEPH, Minn. -- The College of Saint Benedict hockey team (3-2-2), which has a 3-0-1 record over the past four games, will host Northland College (0-3-0) in nonconference action on Nov. 26-27 at the Ritsche Arena. The puck will drop at 7 p.m., on both nights.
Following the games with Northland, St. Benedict face Bethel in MIAC action on Dec. 6 (at home, 7 p.m.) and in St. Paul, Minn., on Dec. 7 (6 p.m.).
CSB, directed by third year head coach
Lindsay Macy, opened the season with a loss to No. 1 and defending national DIII champion UW-River Falls (1-0), 8-2 in River Falls, Wis. Then CSB took a 5-4 road loss to UW-Superior on Nov. 5 as first-year
Camryn Hargreaves had two goals. On Nov. 12, the Bennies and UW-Superior played to a 2-2 tie (Yellowjackets had a 2-0 advantage in the shootout for the point). On Nov. 15-16, the Bennies rebounded by winning a 2-1 overtime decision at St. Scholastica and then scoring a season-high five goals in a 5-0 win against the Saints a night later. This past weekend, the Bennies defeated St. Olaf, 2-1 in overtime on the road and had a 2-2 draw with the Oles at home in which CSB earned the two conference points with a 1-0 verdict in the overtime shootout (
Ella Tuccitto goal).
St. Benedict has improved to nine MIAC points and third in the league with its 3-0-1 record in league play. CSB, which is 3-2-2 overall, is 2-0 in overtime games and 1-0 in shootout wins.
Through five games, St. Bens has totaled 19 goals for a 2.7 goals per game average while also allowing 19 for 2.7 goals against average. CSB has outshot opponents by a 28.0 to 27.4 difference. CSB and its opponents both have 171 saves. The Bennies have converted 3-of-13 power plays for 23.1 percent while opponents sit at 13.5 percent on 3-of-22 conversions. CSB has won 218 and lost 189 faceoffs for a 53.6 percent success mark.

In his first season as head coach, Jake Bobrowski's team sits 0-3 with losses to No. 1 UW-River Falls, 11-0; No. 8 Eau Claire, 11-0 and UW-Superior, 6-0.

Moffat earns MIAC Athlete of the Week Nov. 18 & St. Cloud Ortho/CSB Athlete of the Week, Nov. 25
Kate Moffat of the College of Saint Benedict hockey team, who helped lead the Bennies to a 1-0-1 record this weekend, was today been named the St. Cloud Orthopedics / CSB Athlete of the Week. Moffat, who on Nov. 18 was named the MIAC Defensive Player of the Week, earned her first St. Cloud Orthopedics/CSB Athlete of the Week honor in 2024-25. The senior goalie from St. Louis, Mo., had another outstanding week as the Bennies were 1-0-1 against St. Olaf on Nov. 22-23 after going 2-0 against St. Scholastica on Nov. 15-16. She had 1.42 goals against average with 50 saves and three total goals allowed in 1:26.44 on the ice against St. Olaf. Moffat had 32 saves in a 2-1 overtime road win over the Oles. Then she added 18 saves in a 2-2 draw (CSB won shootout, 1-0). After the game ended 2-2 in overtime and proceeded to a shootout, Moffat stopped all seven attempts by St. Olaf. Ella Tuccitto converted a shot after Moffat recorded her seventh stop. Over the past four games, Moffat has registered a 3-0-1 record and registered 0.96 goals against average. She has allowed just four goals in 251:18 minutes on the ice as the Bennies have been involved in three overtime games plus, she had a 5-0 shutout at home on Nov. 16 against St. Scholastica for her fourth career shutout. In that stretch, Moffat has 108 saves recorded and a .964 saves percentage. Overall, this season, the senior ranks eighth in the MIAC with 2.51 goals against average in seven games and 311:17 on the ice. She is also eighth in saves per game at 18.29 (128 total) and eighth in saves percentage at .908 among MIAC goalies. For her career, Moffat has played in 48 games and recorded 1755.02 minutes on the ice when she has permitted 74 goals for 2.53 goals against average. She has 808 career saves, a .916 saves percentage along with five shutouts and a 15-12-3 overall record.

Aurora Opsahl scored her first goal of the season in the 5-0 win over St. Scholastica. Opsahl now has 31 career goals in her time as a Bennie, a mark that ranks ninth all-time at CSB. She also ranks eighth all-time in points with 58 and moves into seventh with four more points. Brigette Miller (2014-18) is seventh all-time in points at CSB with 61 points. Opsahl is coming off seasons of 14 goals and 14 assists for 28 points in 2022-23 and 13 goals and seven assists in 2023-24. She also has 255 career shots and eight game-winning goals, which places her tied with Susan Engel (2001-05) for the career lead.
When
Jenna Timm recorded her 32nd assist against St. Olaf, she moved into seventh all-time for assists. To move up to sixth all-time (Elli Marvin, 2013-17), she needs three more assists. Timm, who has 12 career goals, has three assists this season.
