Waters and Miller of CSB Soccer named to the CSC Academic All-District Team

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – Seniors Annie Waters and Olivia Miller of the College of Saint Benedict soccer team have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Soccer Team, according to an announcement Tuesday (Nov. 19).

Waters is a senior elementary education and exercise major from Lakeville, Minn., who played goalie for the Bennies. Miller, a global business leadership major from Eagan, Minn., who played on defense. The two CSB standouts directed CSB to a 5-8-4 overall record including 2-7-2 in league play.

The 2024 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA — for each gender. 
 
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on December 11.

Waters, who is a two-time Academic All-MIAC honoree and named All-MIAC honorable mention in 2023, ranked seventh in goals against average in the MIAC this year at 1.111 in 1.296.33 minutes played. Waters, who earned her first CSC Academic All-District honor,  was fourth in the MIAC in saves with 85 and had a .842 save percentage, also fourth in the league. She totaled four shutouts for seventh in the conference. This season, she started 16 games and allowed 16 goals. For her career, she finished with 62 games played, allowing 40 goals for a 0.92 goals against averaged. In 3,901:04 minutes, she had 214 saves with her 85 this year a career best. She finished with a .843 save percentage and 10 shutouts while totaling a 22-16-7 overall record.

Miller earned her first CSC Academic All-District honor after earlier being named All-MIAC Honorable Mention. Miller played a key role as the Bennies defense held opponents to 1.29 goals per game. In 2024, she played 1,492 minutes and had 22 shots with 10 on-goal. A year ago, Miller was also named to the All-MIAC Playoff Team and to the All-MIAC Team. For her career, Miller played in 70 games with 66 starts, scoring three goals and recording one game-winning shot. She had 43 shots with 20 on-goal in 5,243 minutes.
