ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict soccer team (3-4-4, 0-2-3 MIAC) faced a tough matchup on Saturday, Oct. 5, falling 3-0 to St. Catherine (7-2-2, 4-0-1) in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action at the CSB Outdoor Athletic Complex.
With this loss, the Bennies' record now stands at 3-4-4 overall and 0-2-3 in MIAC play, while St. Catherine remains tied for first in the conference with Carleton College, boasting a league record of 4-0-1.
St. Catherine took an early lead with an own goal from the Bennies at the 9:46 mark of the first half. Later, Natalie Pfleger extended their advantage to 2-0 with a goal assisted by Claire Cater, a score that held until halftime. In the second half, at 59:06, Ari Green sealed the match for St. Catherine with an unassisted goal, making it 3-0.
In terms of shots, the Wildcats outpaced the Bennies with a 17-to-9 overall advantage, including a 9-to-4 edge in the first half and 8-to-5 in the second half. St. Catherine also dominated corner kicks, leading 5-0. CSB goalkeeper

The Bennies will look to rebound in their next match, facing Gustavus Adolphus at home on Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. at the CSB Outdoor Athletic Complex.
