MOORHEAD, Minn. – Despite the seventh goal of the season by senior forward
Alli Voss, the College of Saint Benedict soccer team (4-5-4, 1-4-2 MIAC) dropped a 1-0 decision to Concordia-Moorhead in MIAC action on Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 16).
With the setback, CSB moved to 4-5-4 overall and 1-4-2 in MIAC play. Concordia improved to 8-4-0 and 4-3-0 in the MIAC. Next for CSB will be a Senior Day game with Bethel on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the CSB Outdoor Athletic Complex.
At 18:33 of the opening half, Voss took an assist from
Sienna Chase and tallied her seventh goal of the season as the Bennies took a 1-0 lead. At 52:46, Concordia tied the game at 1-1 with a goal by Darby Hannan off an assist by Hannah Mukhtar. At 84:11, Concordia grabbed a 2-1 lead on a goal by Kara Ellis off an assist from Emma Sheflo.
Overall, the Cobbers had a 10-to-8 shots edge against CSB, which included an 8-to-4 margin in shots on goal. The Bennies held a 5-to-4 margin corners. CSB goalkeeper
Annie Waters faced eight shots on goal as she registered six saves. Voss led CSB in shots with five and shots on goal with three. With her seven goals, she now has 27 in her career.
