ST JOSEPH, Minn. - Led by goals from

Alli Voss and
Sydney Burns, the College of Saint Benedict soccer team (3-3-0) recorded a second consecutive win by shutout after a 3-0 victory over Wartburg College (2-4-1) on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the CSB Soccer Field.
Saint Benedict improved to 3-3-0 after the win over Wartburg and now sits 6-7-2 all-time against the Knights with a 5-2-1 record in St. Joseph, Minn. With the second consecutive home victory in two tries, CSB is now 9-0-1 over the past two years at the friendly confines of the CSB Soccer Field.

Steve Kimble praised his entire team, including the upper-class leadership on the squad.
"I am proud of our team this weekend with two total team victories. A lot of upper-class student-athletes stepped up to get us rolling, said Kimble, who now has 143 career wins. "We were happy to get the win and we look to continue this momentum." added Kimble, whose team will travel to face Saint Mary's University in Winona, Minn., on Saturday, Sept. 23.
Sophomore
Grace Fitzgibbons (Minneapolis, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels) scored the first goal of the game and the second of her career for the Bennies in the second half at 59:41 for a 1-0 lead. Junior
Alli Voss (Edina, Minn. Benilde St Margaret's) added her first assist of the season and the seventh of her career.
At 82:00, Voss tallied the second goal of the half and her second of the season with a score to the right side of the goal. Voss, who has scored goals in consecutive games, tallied the 17
th of her career. Then, CSB finished off the victory with a goal by junior
Sydney Burns (Eagan, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels) at the 85:26 mark. Burns had her first goal of the season and sixth of her career. Senior
Ella Young (Hudson/Hudson, Wis.) recorded the assist for her first of the year and third of her career.
Junior goalkeeper
Annie Waters (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) made one save and faced three shots. in recording her second straight shutout. With the performance today, she dropped her goals against average to 1.01.
CSB controlled action through the game and finished with a 14-3 edge in shots and a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
