Emily Renner and
Georgia Hinton of the College of Saint Benedict golf team have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large Team, according to an announcement Tuesday (May 23).
The 2023 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's golf honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 22.

his is the first CSB Academic All-District honor for both Renner and Hinton.
Earlier this spring, Renner earned a spot on the All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Golf Team. Renner, a junior accounting major from Victoria, Minn., is the seventh student-athlete at Saint Ben's to earn three or more All-MIAC honors. This past fall, Renner finished tied for 17th at the MIAC Championships this past fall, leading the Bennies to a fifth-place finish on Oct. 1-3. She finished with a three-day total of 242 (81, 81-80). In her career she now has three top-17 finishes at the MIAC Championships (3
rd, 2021-22; seventh, 2020-21).
In 2022-23, she had three top 10 finishes including second at the DIII Classic. In 14 rounds, she had a team-best 79.5 round average, which ranks 14th among MIAC individuals. This spring Renner was fifth at the Gustie Spring Invite when she shot a 77 with 11 pars and a birdie. At the D3 Classic on Sept. 18, she set a pair of CSB golf records in leading the team to a 10
th place finish.
She not only shot her collegiate career best round of 71 on day two of the D3 Classic, but the single round score on the par 73 course would give her the new title holder of best career round in CSB history with a –2 under par. Renner also set the new 36-hole record, shooting a two-day total of 146. Renner's rounds of 75 and 71 put her tied for second individually to earn medalist honors. She finished her second round with four birdies and an eagle.
Hinton of Plymouth, Minn., ranked third for CSB with an average round of 87.1. She has played 14 rounds and has 1,219 strokes with a low round of 76. She was 22nd at the
MIAC with a 244 or 25 over par after rounds of 87-81-76.
