Bedford records seventh straight set win & teams with Bodensteiner for doubles win

SARTELL, Minn. – Greta Nesbit, Maria Bedford, and Jane Bodensteiner had singles wins but the College of Saint Benedict (4-2, 2-1 MIAC) lost three tiebreakers and a 5-4 MIAC decision to St. Olaf (4-3, 4-2 MIAC) on Saturday (March 18) at Sta-Fit.

With the setback, CSB had a two-match conference winning streak come to an end. CSB lost two of three matches at doubles, including two on tiebreakers. Then, the Bennies had a tiebreaker go against them in singles.

At No. 1 singles, sophomore Ashley Tarrolly is 1-2 on the season (1-2 in the MIAC) after dropping a heartbreaker to Olha Zubarieva of St. Olaf by a score of 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (12-10).

The Oles also took wins at No. 2 and No. 4 singles. At No. 2 Allie Prokosch had a 6-4, 6-2 victory over junior Peyton Kopel, who dropped to 3-4 on the season with a 1-2 mark in conference play.
