Saint Benedict scored a season-high eight goals in the non-conference victory. The two teams will play on Saturday at 5 p.m., again at Ritsche Arena in St. Cloud.

Stinnett, who now has a team-high eight goals this year and 20 in her career, scored the most goals in a game by CSB player since 2005, a run of 18 seasons. A junior forward from North Oaks, Minn., Stinnett tied the record of four goals by Patty King on Nov. 20, 2005 vs. Concordia: Susan Engel vs. St. Olaf on Jan. 25, 2002, and Lindsay Meier vs. UW-River Falls on Feb. 7, 1998.
Corrine Brown, a senior from St. Paul, Minn., had five assists to break the record of four assists held by seven others including Ashley Davenport (Concordia, 11/20/05), Katie Ponsolle (Hamline, 2/11/05); Susan Engel (Hamline, 2/8/04); Anna Richardson (St. Olaf, 1/25/02; Bethel, 1/6/02; Bethel, 1/5/01); Breanna Berry (Bethel, 1/5/01); Kelly Wegwerth (Bethel, 1/6/01) and Paula Vogt (St. Catherine, 1/9/99).
CSB also had two goals from junior
Aurora Opsahl, who now has six on the season and 23 in her career. Stinnett's sister, first-year
Shae Stinnett also scored her first career goal and sophomore
Presley Kraemer had her third of the season.
The Bennies also had a sterling performance from first-year goalie
Delaney Norman, who recorded her first career shutout as she had 12 saves and moved to 1-1-0 on the season.
"I am really proud of the team for working hard and doing the little things that make goals happen," said CSB head coach
Lindsay Macy. "
Corrine Brown consistently works hard every day and there is no one more deserving of the assist record than her. Ava tying the goals scored record was well-deserved. She puts in the work and buys into the little things. I could not be happier for those two; Delaney, our first-year goalie with her first shutout; as well as the entire team for their extraordinary effort tonight," she said.
St. Ben's jumped to a 2-0 lead in the opening period with goals by Opsahl and A. Stinnett.
Corrine Brown had assists on both goals while
Abby Nelson assisted on Stinnett's goal. In the period CSB had a 22-to-5 margin in shots. After a scoreless second period, the Bennies broke the game open in the third period with six goals, the most in any game since scoring seven goals against New England College on Jan. 7, 2003.
