ST. PAUL, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict Swim and Diving team had 25 top-eight finishes in the St. Kate's Double Dual on Saturday. The Bennies dropped a 234-to-65 decision to UW-Eau Claire and a 197.50 to 86.50 decision to St. Catherine during the competition. In the 25 top-eight finishes, the Bennies had five individuals record third place finishes.
Saint Benedict will next compete at the Gustavus Adolphus Invite on Saturday, Nov. 18.
Breakdown of CSB results
Sophomore
Rachel Schlueter placed third in the 100 back at 1:02.96.
Megan Pattee was ninth in 1:12.55 in the 100 back. Schlueter also finished sixth in the 100 fly in 1:05.09 with first-year
Josey Jackson, seventh in 1:05.27.
In diving, CSB placed two in the top five on the one-meter board including senior
Claire Hippen, who had a score of 169.55 for fourth with first-year
Ella Kowalczyk, fifth, at 168.00 points. Kowalczyk also placed third on the 3-meter board with a 181.80 score.
CSB placed two in the top eight of the 100 breast as sophomore
Megan Bartels was sixth in 1:13.46 while senior
Emi Wagner was eighth in 1:14.34.
Wagner also placed seventh in the 50-free in 26:03 while sophomore
Liz Hansen took 10
th in 26.54.
Sophomore
Mikayla Haskamp was sixth in the 100 free in 56.84 with senior
Hannah Tatge, 10
th in 59.01. In the 500 free, senior
Laura Jennings placed seventh in 5:43.43 with senior
Morgan Stout, eighth, 5:45.39.
CSB placed two in the top four of the 200 back as Sitzman was third in 2:16.55 while first-year
Claire Canfield placed fourth in 2:16.74. Bartels was sixth in 2:41.42 in the 200 breast with Hansen, 10
th, 2:48.47.
Canfield took sixth in the 400 IM at 5:05.16 with Haskamp, 10
th in 5:15.30.
The Bennies had two swimmers in the top five of the 200 fly as senior
Laura Jennings was third in 2:22.90 with Jackson, fifth in 2:28.27.
The Bennies finished fourth in the 400 medley relay as a team of Schlueter, Bartels, Jennings and Wagner clocked 4:16.21. In the 400 free relay, the Bennies took fourth with Schlueter, Tatge, Haskamp and Wagner in 3:51.41.
First-year
Jayda Alholm was sixth in the 1000-free at 12:32.15 and sophomore
Maddy Ahlquist placed eighth in 13:01.93. Sitzman was sixth in 2:07.03, Stout, seventh in 2:07.14 and Canfield, eighth in 2:09.13 in the 200 free.
