ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – With a standout performance in goal from
Madisen Carter, the College of Saint Benedict (4-4-2) recorded a draw with No. 25 Simpson (8-1-1) in nonconference action at the CSB Athletic Turf Field.
In the match up with the nationally-ranked Storm, the Bennies had a special defensive effort while also recording more shots and shots on goal. With the draw, CSB is now 4-4-2 on the year.The Bennies held a 5-to-4 edge in corners and a 15-to-11 edge in shots.
The Bennies, which travel to Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday, Oct. 7, are now 2-0-2 at the friendly confines of CSB Athletic Turf Field in 2023. Over the past two years, Saint Benedict is 9-0-4 at home.

Steve Kimble was pleased with his team's performance against a ranked opponent.
"Our team played against a quality ranked team. We dealt with some injuries and played really composed. I am just happy with our team and the way we finished out a pretty tough week." said Kimble, whose team is 3-1-2 over the past six games.
Sophomore
Madisen Carter (Billings, Mont./Skyview High School), who made her second straight start and her fifth appearance of her career, made five saves in 90 minutes of play. Carter's final save of the game in the closing seconds off a corner by Simpson's Cassidy Nash, saved the game for CSB.
Senior
Abby Willenbring (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) led the way for CSB in shots with five. Junior
Sydney Burns (Eagan, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels) also registered three shots.
For the Storm, Brissa Valadez totaled three shots in 75 minutes of play.
