ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict basketball team is hoping to put its offense into high gear as it takes on Hamline - which is second in the MIAC - for the second time this season on the road on Monday, Feb. 7 in St. Paul. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Per Hamline policy, fans must be masked at all times and are required to wear either a KN95 mask or be double masked. Live stats and video are available here

About the Pipers

The Pipers are sitting second in the MIAC standings behind Augsburg with five games left to play in the regular season. The Pipers are 15-4 overall, 13-3 in MIAC play. In their latest match up, Hamline won a tight game against Concordia by a five-point margin, winning by a score of 66-61. Lydia Lecher leads the Pipers with 12.3 points per game average and Sophie Findell averages 3.2 assists per game.

Last Meeting

The Bennies and the Pipers last met earlier this season on Dec. 8 in St. Joseph. The Pipers outscored the Bennies 35-22 in the first half and cold shooting in the final quarter would keep the Bennies out of chances to catch up to the Pipers offense. The Pipers would take the victory with a score of 68-44. Carla Meyer scored 16 points and had three assists to lead the Bennies.

The Storyline

With just five games left in the regular season, the Bennies are looking for some key victories to secure their spot in the top six to host their first game in the all-comers tournament and if they secure a spot in the top four then they would get a first round bye. The Bennies (12-7 overall, 9-7 MIAC) are currently fifth in the standings and will be playing three teams in the top five spots in their final stretch of games.

Who to Watch

Senior Madison Doran recorded 15 points and three assists in the teams win over the Scots on senior day. First year Olivia Boily pulled down 10 rebounds and scored seven points in that game. Sophomore Carla Meyer continues to lead the Bennies with a 14.4 points per game average and junior Gabby Martin averages two steals per game.
