Biography

CAREER: With 1,226 career points in 86 career games, Carla Meyer finished ninth on CSB career scoring list…ranks in the program's top-10 in three major statistical categories… a three-time All-MIAC honoree, just one of two this year and one of 69 in league history… finished her career with 302 assists for fourth all-time and with 160 three-pointers also ranks fifth. In an 87-63 win over St. Olaf on Jan. 3, 2024, at Claire Lynch Hall, became the 21st player to join CSB's 1,000-point club. Meyer, Kim Krize (1985-88) Jennifer Nash (1982-85) are the only players in school history to reach 1,000 points in 73 or fewer games as Nash accomplished the feat with 1,071 in 73 games and Meyer reached 1K in her 70th game…had 434 career rebounds, registered 73 double-digit scoring games with 21 in 2023-24… recorded three career double-doubles. Meyer registered 11, 20-point games in her career with a high of 27 points against Bethel on Feb. 21, 2023….ranks second all-time in program history in career assists per game at 3.7, sitting just behind Patty Meyer, 4.7, 1985-89. In her career she was 485-of-1,137 from the field for 42.7 percent in 86 games (85 starts)…her 485 made field goals is ninth all-time in Saint Benedict history… averaged a program-best 33.5 minutes per game. … hit 160-of-491 threes for 32.6 percent and made 96-of-118 free throws for 81.4 percent as she averaged 14.3 points per game for her career, a mark that ranks eighth in program history.
 
2023-24: Named All-MIAC for a third straight year, just the 12th in school history to achieve that…In 26 games this season, averaged 14.3 points (371 points) for third in the MIAC with her 3.6 assists (93 total) ranking second in the league… averaged 5.2 rebounds per game (135) for 15th in the MIAC., earned her first-ever MIAC Offensive Player of the Week honor on Dec. 4, 2023, after averaging 14.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in wins over Saint Mary's on Nov. 29 and Hamline on Dec. 2… had a high of 23 points against St. Olaf on Jan. 3.

2022-23: Named to the 2023 MIAC All-Playoff team... named to the All-MIAC team... earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District... started in all 27 games; played 933 total minutes... led the team in scoring and finished 5th in the MIAC at 14.9 points per game... scored 403 points for the season; including a career-high 27 points against Bethel... led the team in assists with 96; 2nd in the MIAC averaging 3.6 assists per game... led the team in steals with 38; averaging 1.4 per game... second on the team in rebounds with 145 total rebounds, averaging 5.4 rebounds per game... finished the season with 3 double-doubles; pulled down 12 rebounds and scored 22 points against Augsburg; recorded 10 rebounds and 16 points against St. Olaf; pulled-down a career-high 14 rebounds and scored 12 points against Macalester... 22 double-digit scoring games... 3 double-digit rebounding games

2021-22: Saw playing time in 24 games this season, starting in 23 of them as a sophomore...earned MIAC All-Conference Team honors...finished first on the team and seventh in the MIAC in scoring at 14.4 points per game...led the team in assists with 68 total...scored a career-high 26 points against Bethel...had a career-high 9 rebounds against St. Scholastica...played 757 minutes total. 

2020-21: 
Saw playing time in all nine of the team's games as a first year in a season shortened due to the COVID19 pandemic  ... named the team's Coach's Award winner at the end of the season ... finished second on the team in scoring at 11.9 points per game ... led the MIAC with 45 assists ... recorded at least eight assists in a game three times, including a career-best nine assists on March 3 against Augsburg ... scored a career-high 16 points against St. Thomas ... led the team with a .431 three-point percentage.

High School: Carla graduated from Totino-Grace High School in 2020 where she played basketball for four years and tennis and softball for three years. She earned all-conference basketball honors three times, scored her 1,000th point in 2020, graduated as the school's all-time leading scorer, and earned honorable mention all-state honors in 2020. She also played tennis for three years where she earned all-conference in 2020 and all-conference honorable mention in 2018. The proudest moment of her career was becoming the all-time leading scorer for her high school. 

Personal: Carla is the daughter of Phoebe and Bob Meyer and she has four siblings: Jamie, Jody, Ben, and Reggie. In her free time she likes to hang out with friends. She loves being a collegiate student-athlete because she gets to play the sport she loves while still receiving a great education. She is pursuing a nursing major.
