ST. PETER, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict swim and dive team wrapped up its dual season with six individual wins in a loss to Gustavus Saturday afternoon.
Ana Birklid and
Fiona Rosko both won a pair of individual events to lead the Bennies, who fell 195-99 to the Gusties.
Birklid won both the 100 breaststroke and the 200 IM for the Bennies. She finished the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.32 and the 200 IM in 2:13.35. Rosko won both the 200 fly and the 200 breaststroke, finishing the fly in 2:19.74 and the breaststroke in 2:32.28.
Molly Johanson picked up a win in the 1,000 free, finishing in 11:26.25, and
Madison Slavik won the 100 backstroke in 1:01.30. Slavik and Birklid also teamed up for a pair of second-place relay finishes Saturday. The duo combined with
Jessica Milstroh and
Emi Wagner to take second in the 200 medley relay in 1:53.88 and they also combined with
Jocie Larson and Wagner to take second in the 200 free relay in 1:42.74.
Rosko also recorded a third-place finish in the 200 IM, finishing in 2:21.56. Milstroh took second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.95 and third in the 100 fly in 1:03.50. Johanson picked up a third-place finish in the 500 free in 5:35.98,
Lindsay Smutka took third in the 10 0back in 1:02.57 and
Laura Jennings finished third in the 200 fly in 2:24.56.
A portion of the CSB team will compete Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 5-6, at the Minnesota Challenge at the U of M. The remainder of the team is off now until the 2022 MIAC Championships Feb. 16-19, also at the U of M Aquatic Center.
